01 Pricing, in plain English

What web design really costs in Ireland

A straight answer, not "it depends". Below are the real market ranges Irish agencies charge in 2026, what pushes the price up or down, and the honest starting points for a Brandstart build. No hidden retainers, no surprise add-ons.

02 What moves the price

Why two websites can differ by thousands.

Most of the price of a website comes down to a handful of decisions. Understand these and you can read any quote, ours included, and know exactly what you are paying for.

01

How many pages and how much content

A tidy five-page site is a very different job to a twenty-page site with service pages, locations and a blog. More pages means more design, more writing and more to test, so it is usually the single biggest factor in the price.

02

Custom design versus a template

A ready-made theme is cheaper and quicker, but you look like everyone else using it. Design built around your business, your customers and your brand costs more because it takes real thought and craft. For most Irish small businesses the sweet spot is a custom look built efficiently on WordPress.

03

Selling online or booking

The moment you take payments, bookings or memberships, the build gets more involved: product pages, a cart, secure checkout, delivery and tax rules. That is why an online store sits well above a brochure site in every price guide.

04

Who writes the words and takes the photos

Good copy and real photography lift a site more than almost anything else, but someone has to produce them. If you supply finished content the price drops. If you need us to write, source images or organise a shoot, that is extra scope, so we agree it up front.

05

How far you push search from day one

Every site we build gets solid SEO foundations at no extra charge. Going further, keyword mapping, content and an ongoing campaign, is where our SEO services come in, and it is a monthly investment rather than a one-off build cost.

06

Ongoing care after launch

A website is not a one-time purchase. Hosting, security, backups and small changes are ongoing, and they are usually a modest monthly figure rather than a big surprise. We are clear about these before you commit, never after.

03 The market ranges

These are the going rates across published 2026 Irish web design cost guides, put in one place so you can compare like with like. They are market context, not a Brandstart price list. Where your project lands in a band depends on the decisions above.

06 Compare quotes wisely

Red flags when a quote looks too good.

Cheap can get very expensive later. When you weigh up quotes, watch for these three warning signs.

Suspiciously cheap

A few hundred euro for a full business site usually means a stock template, thin content and no real thought about getting you found or getting you enquiries. You often pay twice: once for the cheap site, again to have it rebuilt.

Hidden monthly retainers

Some low headline prices are propped up by a compulsory monthly fee you cannot escape, or a "pay monthly" deal where you never actually own the site. Always ask what the total looks like over three years, not just today.

You do not own the site

If you cannot take your website, domain and content elsewhere, you are renting, not buying. Make sure ownership of the site, the hosting and the domain sits with you. With us, it always does.

07 Common questions

Costs, answered plainly.

The questions Irish business owners ask us most about paying for a website.

How do payments work, and when do I pay?

We agree one fixed price before any work starts, then split it into stages. Typically a deposit to book the work in, a payment at an agreed milestone, and the balance on launch. You always know the full figure up front, and you never get a surprise invoice at the end.

Do you offer monthly payment options?

Yes, we can spread the build across the project stages, and ongoing hosting, care and SEO run as simple monthly plans. Unlike some "pay monthly website" deals, you still own your site outright. We will never lock you into a contract just to keep your website online.

Is a redesign cheaper than a brand new site?

Often, yes. If your current site works but looks dated or is not bringing in enquiries, a redesign on the existing foundations can be quicker and cheaper than starting over. If it is slow, hard to update or built on something we cannot safely work with, a fresh build usually pays off faster. We will look at what you have and give you an honest answer, not just quote the bigger job.

What are the ongoing costs after launch?

The essentials are your domain, hosting and some care and maintenance, which together are typically a modest monthly figure. Anything optional, like an ongoing SEO campaign or Google Ads, is separate and always your choice. We set all of this out clearly before you commit so there are no surprises.

Why is your quote higher than the cheapest one I got?

A website is an investment that should bring in work, not just an expense to minimise. Our price reflects custom design, proper SEO foundations, a site you actually own and real support after launch. The cheapest quote often skips those, and quietly costs more once you factor in lost enquiries and a rebuild later. See the results behind the price on our case studies.

Can you give me an exact price today?

Once we know your pages, content and whether you are selling online, yes, we give you one clear fixed price. The ranges on this page get you close, and a short conversation gets you an exact figure. Request a quote and we will come back within one working day.
